Limited Edition Print of 'Flutter-Bye Monarch'
 
This is a mixed media drawing of Monarch Butterflies. I have created this piece because the Monarch species has been denied endangered species listing despite a decline of 99% in the last 40 years. The main reason for their decline is a combination of climate change and the loss of their primary food source, Milkweed. I have entered the original drawing into the Sketch For Survival Exhibition, which is a charity event that raises money for conservation charities. I hope that my artwork will tell their story and help promote the need for urgent action; 1.2 million were recorded in the 1990s, now there’s fewer than 2,000 butterflies! 
 
I will also be donating 10% from each print sale to Butterfly Conservation.
 
The original drawing was created with coloured pencils and watercolour on Fabriano Artistico hot pressed watercolour paper.

The drawing has been printed onto 225gsm textured fine art paper with UV encapsulated inks; making these prints lightfast and archival, lasting at least 75 years without fading or discolouring. The textured paper allows you to see every pencil mark as if you were looking at the original drawing.
 
The print is finished in a high quality white and dark grey double mount, which measures 14x11''. The image size is A4.

Limited run of 150 prints. Each print will be numbered and hand-signed by myself and will include a certificate of authenticity.
